Truls was neutered yesterday. It all went well, at least so far. He was a really brave guy! And soooo happy when we brought him home again :-0 The big challenge the coming days will be to keep him indoors. He loves the catyard and has already made it very clear that he doesn't agree with the veterinary's orders to stay indoors for a couple of days.

A happy neuter

Happy Birthday!
Battus & Truls were 6 months yesterday. In honour of the day Jack Frost decided to give the cats a lot of snow to play with. Probably more snow than they've ever seen before. And how they loved it! They all ran around the catyard like crazy - up and down, in and out, back and forth. This is Battus playing in the snow yesterday.

Just like Thor's arrow
Truls has, as it turned out, a very suitable name. Truls means Thor's arrow and it derives from the old Norse tales. Thor was one of the major Norse gods and it was he who made the thunder and lightning. Truls is fast like an arrow. He is never still for a second, unless he's sleeping. This is one of the rare occasions where I actually succeded in taking a photo of him :-)

What a teddy bear!
Battus is the sweetest kitten! He is still the smallest of them all but he is fighting hard to win respect and to get higher ranking scores. Battus has a wonderful coat! It's thick, I mean really thick and soft as cotton. He loves to cuddle and he always reaches out for a big hug. And he purrs and purrs and purrs... Holding Battus is like holding a teddy bear! Oh, what a great guy he is!

Close encounter (almost)
A squirrel lives in our big oak tree. I see it from time to time in our garden collecting acorns. This morning the squirrel found some by the "bird window". It sat there feasting just one meter from the window. Beverly watched the squirrel closely and with great interest as she was trying to figure out what on earth she saw. I think she understood it wasn't a cat nor a bird. But what was that???

Bekka on the balcony

Playing in a box
It's amazing to watch the cats as I put an empty box on the floor. It takes no more than a nano second and the box is full paws, tails, ears and noses. Cats simply love boxes. Bekka, Beverly, Truls & Battus are no exception. I usually make holes on the sides and this makes the box even more fun to play in. One cat inside and another on top or outside, poking at each other through the holes :-).
This is Beverly (February 2) watching Truls who is inside the box.
