Our beautiful Bekka is a real wild cat. She loves being outdoors (in the cat yard). She isn't bothered by rain nor wind, her thick coat protects her. I've never seen that in a cat before. Now, as the autum is in full swing, she has discovered that it's raining leaves. And oh what fun it is! It rustles here and there and everywhere and she happily dances among the falling leaves.

Battus the King
Today I visited Battus and Truls. They are now 8 weeks old and very playful :-) They are so lovley, soft and cute as only kittens can be. This is Battus. He is named after three great Greek kings in the Greek colony of Cyrena (a very long time ago!). The three kings were greatly loved and appreciated by the people of Cyrena. The name Battus means King.

Today's catch: a gross earthworm
Someone said that taste differs. Well, let's say that Beverly and I don't share the same view on what's a great catch. Today she proudly brought into the kitchen her great catch: a big earthworm. It was great watching her, being all proud and curiuous about this new thing she'd catched. Sorry to say I didn't share her fascination and I surley don't like big fat earthworms on my kitchen floor. So I said thank you very much for the very nice gift and then I threw it away. Luckily she soon found something else to play with. So a happy ending for all, except for the poor earthworm.

Truls, 7 weeks old
This cute little fellow is Truls. He is one of the two new kittens that will move in with us later this autumn. On this photo he is seven weeks old. We are counting the days for when he and his brother Battus will arrive. That will be great!Thank you Linda at S*Englaflickorna for giving us your approval of using your photos :-)

Deworming - not a walk in the park!
Ever tried to give a cat medicine? If you have, then you know what experts they are in getting away. You have to be a master in deception to fool a cat. It is time for Bekka and Beverly to be dewormed. Beverly is stubborn. She simply refuses to be fooled by me. Any trick I may have up the sleeve she detects and we are back to square one. So today I tried another strategy. I've tried medicie as paste (Banminth), I put some on her paw and she licked it off right away (cats hate to get sticky stuff on their paws). So far so good... :-) Now it's Bekka's turn. Let's see how that turns out.
This photo of Beverly is from September 14.

2 + 2 = 4!
These two cute 6 weeks old boys will be joining our family in mid November - mid December. They are Norwegian Forest Cats, just like Bekka and Beverly. We hope they will be great friends with Bekka and Beverly and that the four of them will have a great life together. We've never had male cats before so this will be a new experiance. But from what we've heard male cats are cuddly and in all aspects a fantastic company. So we are really looking forward to bringing them home.
