Yesterday Bekka saw a big deer poking around in our garden. I think it was the first time she saw one, at least in our garden. She was absolutley fascinated by the deer. She watched it closley, then ran away to hide and came sneaking back again. She simply couldn't resist watching the deer. I guess she found it quite different from the crows and other birds she loves to watch.

20 weeks today!
Bekka's splish splash game continues. She loves it but I am not too happy about it. As my previous strategy didn't work out (lifting her away when she started), I have continued to plan B. This means I have placed the water fountain on the biggest, and I am sorry to say the ugliest, tray we have in the house. By this I hope to at least spare the kitchen floor :-)
Today our kittens are 20 weeks old. I sure they have grown but to us they seem as small as they were four weeks ago when they moved in with us. Happy Birthday darlings! I managed to take some photos of them today as they were taking their afternoon nap. Beverly is making herself comfy in the sofa (how cute can you get!!!) and Bekka is resting by the window. Isn't she lovely!!!

The splish splash game
Do you remember the movie La Dolce Vita? Anita Ekberg took her famous dip in a fountain in Rome in the movie. Well, we have our own Anita Ekberg. It's Bekka :-) She invented a new game today. She splashed the water out of the water fountain with her paws. It must have been at least one litre, all over the kitchen floor! She thought that was very funny and Beverly stood beside her happily watching. Bekka played this new water game several times. Now we have to think of a way to get her interested in something else. Any ideas? Unfortunately we did not get a photo of the splish splash game (we were fully occupied trying to save the kitchen floor). So here's another photo of Bekka, alias Miss Anita Ekberg.

New toys!
Today Rune brought home two new toy mice for Bekka and Beverly. The novelty was that they make a loud squeeky sound when you move them. It almost sounds like a real mouse. I guess we will hear the mice all night long...

The amazing bathroom
I've never thought of the bathroom as a fascinating room. Nice and cosy, yes. But hardly fascinating. Bekka and Beverly on the other hand find the bathroom a very interesting place. Every morning they play in the zink with running water from the tap. Splash, splash... :-)

A major crisis with a happy ending
Yesterday Bekka's and Beverly's friendship was put to a test. I was away for a while and when I got home a major crisis had emerged. Beverly was terrified by something (by what we still don't know). And poor Bekka got all the blame. Beverly did all she could to look big and viscious to scare Bekka away. She growled and arched her back. And poor Bekka couldn't go near her. This went on for about two hours.

The great Chase
A wasp made the mistake to fly into our house today. In no time two furry “monsters” were chasing the wasp all over the window. The wasp chase was a big event for our new friends. They were so excited. Needless to say I watched them closely to make sure no one got hurt. Despite Bekka’s and Beverly’s great effort the wasp managed to escape and is now living happily in a garden somewhere. But from this moment on the kittens keep a close eye on the window that apparently can provide them all kinds of exciting events.
The balcony upstairs (cat safe with a net!) is very popular. Bekka and Beverly love to sit there watching the birds and feeling the spring in the air. The garden is full of birds this time of year and their singing gets really loud.
I hope the kittens like their new home. They play like crazy all day long and they eat really well. They are fantastic!
